For program directors and practicum or field coordinators
Between-class practice for your counseling, MSW, and MFT trainees
Your trainees get limited chances to practice early skills before they sit with a real client. SeatTime gives them one more place to rehearse: text-based conversations with fictional AI clients, followed by AI-generated skills feedback. They can practice on their own schedule and bring questions back to class and supervision.
What it is
- Text-based practice conversations with fictional clients
- AI feedback on skills (for example, reflecting, open questions, pacing)
- Reviewed by a licensed counselor (LPC)
- Practice that supplements your coursework and supervision
What it isn't
- Not therapy, and no real clients are involved
- Not grading, competency assessment, or evaluation
- Not a substitute for practicum, internship, or supervised hours, and it doesn't count toward them
- Not a tool for instructors to review individual students
Privacy
Instructors and coordinators do not get access to transcripts or per-student feedback. Institutional reporting is aggregate usage counts only — active learners, sessions, and scenarios used, by week — without per-learner breakdowns. Trainees decide what, if anything, to share. We ask trainees not to enter real client information.
Pricing
Individual trainees can subscribe for $15/month with no commitment. Programs can run an 8-week cohort pilot or an annual license.
Individual trainee
$15/month
No commitment. The public plan.
$15.00 / learner-month
8-week cohort pilot
$24 per learner
20-learner minimum. 25 learners = $600.
$13.00 / learner-month
Annual program license
$90 per seat / year
25-seat minimum ($2,250).
$7.50 / learner-month
The pilot is credited toward the license. Sign within 60 days of the pilot's end and the full pilot fee comes off the first-year price. The license year runs from the pilot start, so 25 seats come to $2,250 in total ($600 pilot plus a $1,650 balance). Conversion must include every named pilot learner, subject to the 25-seat minimum. Each seat costs the full annual price; added seats share the pilot-start anniversary. No access is provided between pilot expiry and a later conversion.
It doesn't include custom scenarios, and it doesn't include reports on individual students. A short cohort kickoff guide is ready for coordinators.
How a pilot looks
- Pick one course or cohort, such as a techniques class or a practicum prep group.
- Trainees get access for 8 weeks and practice subject to daily fair-use and shared service capacity limits. Responses and feedback may pause when a limit is reached. Use is voluntary.
- At the end, you decide whether a program license makes sense. Aggregate usage counts can support that decision. If it doesn't, you're done.
We treat success as whether trainees keep choosing to practice and whether you'd want to continue. We won't report anything about trainee readiness or performance.
See it first
The demo is free, needs no account, and takes a few minutes. Trainees can also create a free account with 3 scenarios.
How it's built
- Reviewed by a licensed counselor (LPC).
- Built around the microskills your program teaches — attending, reflections of feeling, content, and meaning, open questions, summarizing, MI/OARS, broaching, and risk-assessment basics.
- Every client is a fictional composite — not a real person or a real case. Please never enter real client information.
- The feedback is AI-generated — it points to specific moments so you can judge it yourself, and it can be wrong. No grades, ever. Read about its limits.
- Extra practice, nothing more — between classes and alongside supervision. Not therapy, not a grade, and not a substitute for practicum or supervised hours. Bring questions to your faculty or site supervisor.
- Your words stay yours — conversations are saved to give feedback and track progress. We don't use them to train our own models; our AI providers process your text to generate replies. Privacy Policy has the details, and you can download your data anytime.
- Monthly is $15, cancel anytime — with a 14-day money-back window on your first payment. Email us within 14 days and it’s done.
